My name is Felipe Peña, a filmmaker, artist, and craftsman based in Phoenix, Arizona.
After more than 23 years in the film industry, I found myself searching for a quieter creative outlet. Painting began as a way to unwind after long days on set and gradually became a practice I’ve returned to for over a decade.
More recently, I began creating handcrafted wooden crosses and personalized pendants with handmade beadwork. What started as gifts for friends and family grew into a passion for creating meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Inspired by faith, craftsmanship, and storytelling, every painting, cross, and pendant is made by hand with care, intention, and respect for the story it represents.

Art is a universal language that bridges cultures and brings people together.

A colorful tree and my mother's love, and this is what came out.
End of June 2026

This painting gave me a feeling of a tree on its own island. I painted this after watching The life of Pie. The blue tones inspired me.

This painting is like Cherry blossom season. I saw them bloom and my hand and mind wanted to paint a version of it. 2013

This is the Blood Moon inspired by a friend. One year the Blood Moon happened and she thought it was so beautiful and wanted to capture it forever so I painted it for her. She passed away and I never got to give it to her. 2017

This is my first big piece I have created. In 2025 I painted the blues and there it sat till June 2026 when it yelled at me to lay down these colors. It reminds me of a city scape from far.

This is a painting I did in 2016. I wanted to paint with a black background and have turquoise and pinks pop. I was laying down the pinks and turquoise and this is what was created.

This painting took time. I kept changing the background, trying to find the right atmosphere for the vision I had in my head. It started with lighter tones, then shifted into deeper colors — early dawn, late night, that quiet space where everything feels still and focused. The profile shot became the anchor, and the background became the world around.

Remember the Classic film "Spaceballs": "They've gone to plaid"
This is my interpretation of that scene

This painting gives me old school vibes. I was jamming out to 1970s and 1980's music, and this is what was told. 2016

This is my interpretation of my day on the beach in LA with Marco and Rie. 2016

I painted this to remind myself not to compare my life to others and to live My Dream. 2010

I painted this when everything felt heavy — the travel, the hustle, the filmmaking grind, the money that never matched the work. It was one of those gut‑check moments. This piece reminds me that the dream is still worth it, and the process is part of the fight. Get up and fight for your dream. Dream Big. Be Big.

While working on an independent feature in Los Angeles, I found myself looking out over the city, hoping I could keep my life in Phoenix afloat and still chase the dream in LA. When I returned home, this painting emerged — a reflection of that hope that keeps you moving even when you’re stretched thin. 2016
